Hello and a Quick Comments Test

In this short post I want to say hello and try out something new.
This blog has had a few years of writing and approximately zero ways for you to talk back. That changes today, kind of. There is now a comments section at the bottom of this post, powered by a small self-hosted Remark42 instance. You can sign in with GitHub, or just use an email magic link.
A couple of notes:
- Comments are off by default. They are opt-in per post, so most older articles won't have them. I'll turn them on selectively when a post seems like it might benefit from a conversation, and leave them off when I just want to publish and move on.
- This is the test. If you can see a comments box below, scroll down and say hi. If something looks broken, that is exactly what I want to find out.
That is it. Thanks for being here.
